You choose the lion's age, and enter its enclosure for Fifteen minutes. During this time you can sit next to it, pet it, and take photos, accompanied by the venue's staff.

Age matters more than it sounds. A three-month-old cub is the size of a medium dog and behaves like a cub; a year-and-a-half-old lion is already a large animal, and the encounter with it is completely different in nature.

Moving between lions requires moving between enclosures. Those who bought a package of two or three sizes move between separate cages, and that's part of the schedule.

The first, safety-related: do not touch the lion's front legs. This is an explicit rule of the venue, and it applies to all ages. Staff accompany you throughout the encounter and will tell you exactly where it's allowed.

And the second, commercial, and it catches people off guard: don't accept a voucher from the driver taking you there, and don't give a vehicle number at the ticket counter.

The venue explicitly warns that A ticket obtained this way is voided and non-refundable. Meaning not only will you not get in, you also won't get your money back.

This sounds strange to those who aren't familiar with it, but it's a well-known phenomenon in Phuket: drivers who offer vouchers in order to get a commission. Your ticket from us is valid, just don't exchange it for anything on site.

A cub three to five months old He is the size of a medium dog. He behaves like a cub, sleeps a lot, moves in bursts, and looks exactly like what people imagine when they think of a lion cub.

A cub five to seven months old Already bigger and more active. Still a cub, but with noticeable weight.

A lion seven to eighteen months old He is a large animal. The encounter with him is different in nature, less playfulness, more presence.

and a lion eighteen to forty-eight months old He is a fully grown adult lion.

The practical meaning: Those who come with small children usually prefer the young cubs. Those who come for the photo with a real lion will prefer the adult. And note that it's actually the youngest cub that is the most expensive, not the other way around.
