Full Moon Party dates 2026–2027
Unlike the party of the Half Moon (the Half Moon Party), which takes place in the jungle and requires buying tickets in advance, the Full Moon Party is a more open event that takes place on the beach, with a symbolic entrance fee. There's no need to buy tickets in advance - you simply arrive at Haad Rin Beach on the evening of the full moon and enjoy an unforgettable experience.
All the Full Moon Party dates at Haad Rin Beach, from the next party until the end of 2027. The date is determined according to the full moon in Thailand time.

New Year's is the biggest and most crowded Full Moon event of the year!
Did you know?
The Full Moon Party began as a small celebration in the '80s, when a group of travelers decided to hold a party to mark the spectacular full moon overlooking Haad Rin Beach. Today, the event attracts between 10,000 and 30,000 people every month!
What's special about the Full Moon Party?
The uniqueness of the Full Moon Party lies in a combination of several factors:
- Perfect location- an amazing white beach under a full moon
- International atmosphere- a gathering of travelers from all over the world
- Varied music- Over 12 different stages along the beach, each with a different music style
- Spectacular fire shows- Street performers do amazing fire tricks
- Energy that never stops- The party lasts all night until sunrise
- Body painting in fluorescent colors- an inseparable part of the experience
The party isn't just about alcohol and dancing - it's a celebration of freedom and unity, under a full moon in one of the most beautiful places in the world. It's an opportunity to meet new friends, dance until sunrise, and create memories that will stay with you forever.
The comprehensive guide to planning the Full Moon experience
🎭 What to expect at the Full Moon Party?
The Full Moon Party usually starts around 20:00 and continues until sunrise the next day. Along the beach you'll find a variety of stages with different music styles - from electronic, through reggae, hip-hop, house, to rock. What makes the party special is the chaotic yet magical atmosphere - with fire performers, food stalls, improvised bars, and thousands of people painted in fluorescent colors dancing on the beach by the light of the full moon.
In some places, you can buy "buckets" - small buckets full of mixed alcoholic drinks with ice and energy drink (be careful of excessive drinking). It's worth noting that you can also order regular drinks at the various bars.
💰 Costs and tickets
Unlike the Half Moon Party and other parties in Koh Phangan, there's no need to buy tickets in advance for the Full Moon Party. You need to pay an entrance fee of about 100–200 THB (about $3–6) at the beach entrance. Payment is made in cash. It's important to bring enough cash for the evening, but not too large amounts.
Additional expenses worth taking into account:
- Body paint: 100–300 THB, depending on the quantity and complexity
- Drinks: About 80–120 THB for a beer, 250–400 THB for a "bucket"
- Food: 80–200 THB per dish at the food stalls
- Transfers: 100–200 THB for a ride by taxi/tuk-tuk
especially important
The biggest expense is accommodation - on Full Moon dates prices rise significantly and you need to book a place in advance (at least a month ahead, and preferably more). See accommodation recommendations further down the page.

Here's a list of recommended items to take with you to the party:

- Water bottle: It's important to stay hydrated
- Small towel: for wiping sweat or sitting on the sand

There are several options for getting around Koh Phangan island:
- Tuk-tuk/songthaew- Local shuttle vehicles, available all over the island
- Scooter rental- A popular option, but requires caution (experienced riders only!)
- Taxis– more expensive but more comfortable
- Local boats- for travel between certain beaches
Getting to the party and back
On Full Moon night, tuk-tuks and taxis work all night, but prices go up. If you're staying at Haad Rin Beach itself, you can get there on foot. If you're planning to return early (before sunrise), make sure you have a plan to get back to the hotel.
Pro tip
Arrange in advance with a reliable tuk-tuk driver to pick you up at the end of the party - on the evening of the party, it's very hard to find available rides. You can also consider booking a room for one night at Haad Rin Beach itself, even if you're staying in a different area of the island.

"An unforgettable experience! The crazy atmosphere, the music that never stops, and the amazing people made it one of the best nights of my life. We stayed until sunrise and it was worth every moment. Thailand Express's arrangements were perfect - the hotel was within walking distance and everything went smoothly."
"The Full Moon was the highlight of our trip in Thailand! Crazy atmosphere, people from all over the world, and great music. The tip to book a nearby hotel was excellent. Just a small piece of advice - make sure to wear closed shoes and a bag that can't be stolen from. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a genuine experience!"
"We came to Koh Phangan for our honeymoon and topped it off with the Full Moon Party. What an experience! The fluorescent colors, the energy, and the sunrise at the end - everything was perfect. Thailand Express's recommendations were spot on - the hotel was close, and the ferry tickets we booked in advance saved us a huge headache. Highly recommended!"
"I came with friends to the November party and it was crazy! The atmosphere on the beach was electric and the music was varied - everyone can find their style. We decided on a hotel further away to save money, but in the end it was hard to find a ride at the end of the party. I recommend staying close to Haad Rin Beach if possible."
