Phuket or Khao Lak, and what is "Lazy"

Two questions this page is meant to answer

The pier is Thap Lamu in Phang Nga, and it is close to Khao Lak and far from Phuket.

Those who stay in Khao Lak picked up around 07:30 and arrives at the pier after a short drive. Those staying in Phuket picked up between 06:30 and 07:50, and the drive takes About two hours each way.

The price difference is only 200 THB, but the difference in the day is four hours of travel. Those debating where to stay before this day, Khao Lak is the answer.

and what is "Lazy"? This is the exact same package, with A later pickup time. The price is completely identical, 2,900 by speedboat and 3,200 by catamaran, same as the regular tour.

The Lazy package suits those who don't want to wake up at 06:00, and families with young children. In exchange, you arrive at the islands later, when there are more boats there.

Speedboat or catamaran

The choice that changes the day more than the price

The route is identical in both, the same islands, the same snorkeling stops, the same meal. What changes is the vessel.

Speedboat is fast and reaches the islands earlier, so it leaves more time in the water. On the other hand it Bouncing over the waves, the seating is tighter and in open sea it's a bumpy ride.

The catamaran is two-deck and much more stable. It has an open upper deck, a place to sit and move around, and restrooms, and the sail itself becomes part of the experience.

and this is not a short sail. Similan is 60 km from the shore, and in open sea. For those who suffer from seasickness, the catamaran is worth the difference of 300 THB per adult.

For families with young children the catamaran is also more comfortable: there's room to move, and you don't sit four hours in one seat.

Who this suits

and when to choose otherwise

This suits those for whom snorkeling is the main point. There is no clearer water in Thailand, and that's what justifies the long day.

suitable for those arriving in the season and has a full day to dedicate to it.

Less suitable for families with very young children, this is a long day with sailing in open sea. The catamaran and the Lazy package make it easier, but don't turn it into a short day.

Less suitable For those 70 and over, pregnant women and those with a medical limitation, as defined by the operator itself.
