About the Sanctuary of Truth
History
The Sanctuary of Truth is a spectacular wooden structure whose construction began in 1981. It is built entirely of wood, without nails, and decorated with sculptures based on the philosophy and religions of East Asia.
Architecture
The structure rises to a height of about 105 metres and has four façades representing different cultures: Thailand, Cambodia, China and India. The intricate decorations are hand-carved by craftsmen.
Shows
The sanctuary holds traditional Thai folklore shows, dances and displays of wood art. The shows reflect the rich culture and traditions of Thailand.
Location
The sanctuary is located at the tip of a small peninsula, surrounded by water on three sides, giving a breathtaking view of the Gulf of Thailand. The unique location adds to the magic of the place.

Requirements and recommendations
Dress code
The sanctuary has a respectful dress code. Shorts or skirts above the knee may not be worn. Revealing shirts or tank tops may not be worn. A cover-up can be rented on site for a deposit of 200 THB.
Safety helmet
A safety helmet must be worn during the visit inside the structure. Helmets are provided at the entrance to the sanctuary.
Food and drinks
Food and drinks may not be brought into the sanctuary building.
Photography
Photography is allowed in most areas of the sanctuary. An additional fee is required for photography with professional cameras or video.
