Before every fight you can see the Wai Khru Ram Muay, a ritual in which the fighter honors his teachers, past and present. According to the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the fighter circles the ring three times, then kneels and bows as a sign of respect. The sequence begins by honoring the earth, continues to the teacher, includes movements to ward off spirits, and ends with a salute to the musicians.
A live orchestra plays during the ritual, the dance and all the fights. The instruments listed on the Tourism Authority's site are a two-sided drum, the pi java (a wind instrument) and cymbals.
According to the website of Asset World Corp, which lists the Tawanna Bangkapi market among its properties, World Siam Stadium is inside a community market on Lat Phrao Road, near the Bang Kapi intersection. The website describes it as the newest stadium at the site, with a lighting and sound system.
The site describes the market as the largest community market in Bang Kapi district, with indoor and outdoor zones. It has restaurants, a food court, street food and cafes, as well as fashion, jewelry and IT product shops. The site says the place is a meeting point for all ages, including tourists from abroad.
